Supporting the community

There is several schools in the Hopkins area. Holy Families RC school, Holy Angels School and Silk Grass Primary school is located in Hopkins and Silk Grass Villages and serves about 900 children from ages 3 through 14 years old. Not only does the school take care of the daily educational needs of the local children, it also provide after school and summer activities for the children.

Primary (Elementary) schools in Belize are free, but high school is very expensive and School is only mandatory up to around 7th grade. Parents of school age children spend a lot every year on expenses such as tuition, uniforms, books, school supplies and more. Stann Creek is the second poorest area in Belize and many families in and around Hopkins have limited incomes and multiple children. Your help will be greatly appreciated in the form of school supplies, back packs, notebooks, folders, construction paper etc.

PLEASE LEAVE DONATIONS IN THE DINING ROOM OR DROP SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND BOOKS OFF AT THE SCHOOL OR MRS BERTIE’S LIBRARY. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE CASH FOR DONATION IN THE HOUSE, PLEASE HAND IT TO THE PROPERTY MANAGERS.
